Starfish TS Splicer
Media Splicing System
The Starfish TS Splicer is a software based product that splices multiple Transport Streams – frame accurately. It combines the capabilities of decoding SCTE 35 opt-out signaling, media storage and splicing, to offer a complete media insertion system. It has applications in traditional broadcast, IPTV, OTT and satellite TV systems.
The TS Splicer is available as a standalone product or can be combined with Starfish playlist and media management products to build a complete automated Ad insertion or media replacement system.
The TS Splicer is a software-based solution that runs on generic enterprise grade server hardware and can be configured to support a large number of independent processing channels per server.
The TS Splicer combines the functionality of an integrated Ad server, SCTE 35 opt-out signal decoding, input stream switching and transport stream splicing, to offer a complete media replacement system for Ad insertion or content blocking applications.
It can operate in GOP boundary or frame accurate modes, without traditional full stream decoding and re-encoding. The techniques employed within TS Splicer are covered by international patents granted to Starfish Technologies Limited.
